I learn from Substacks by persons who have access to the shipping data that is available to most of us online but who can understand and analyse it,that we are all looking the wrong way. Because we are directed to. We are all looking toward Persia and that Gulf of Hormuz. But actually that's a done deal. World oil traffic has already been successfully rerouted,and by financial pragmatic pressure to the Gulf of Mexico and USA refineries. It's right out there plain as daylight because it's impossible to hide a massive oil tanker but we don't see it because,well I can't see the middle of the Atlantic ocean from my apartment window and the media,the erstwhile social media of yore isnt telling me. In these latter days we live in,the infrastructures being put in place for future use are too big to hide, so they have instead to be so ‘in our face’ they get normalized into the street furniture we are so familiar with we don't “see” it at all.

I heard on the BBC so presumably it's been fact checked that the two bodies making enormous profits out of the “new” oil trade in its reshaped form are Vladimir Putin (a member of that club you and I ain't in) and BP the oil company. It's like they say “The House Never Loses”. And USA is now once again (it seems) in control of the global oil trade. And since huge reserves of oil have been located around Las Malvinas or The Falkland Islands that no one knew about in the 1980s it's worth noticing Trump's interest in that area and I'm sure the idea of thumbing his nose yet again at our Starmer is a real,if minor attraction too. I am not giving Donald Trump any credit for being the author of any of these deviously clever plans. But he is the perfect Front Man for them. The clever financially empowered people who pull his strings rejoice that they no longer have to be careful and pretend to fairness or concern. We now know that nothing is too appalling for Mr Trump to say or sign into use.

Huge as yet untapped reserves of oil have also been found off the coast of Gaza but when the Palestinian authorities approached oil companies to exploit this resource they were told that the Israeli political administration had told them they would be put out of business and destroyed if they made any deals with the Palestinians.

I'm just now looking into a news story from 30 years ago that didn't feel “right” to me at the time (and a lot of people felt there was something ‘off’ about it,or rather the way it was dealt with),rereading about it,it's so OBVIOUS this was a ‘hiding in plain sight’ operation,also a ‘normalising so you don't take any notice’ operation’ and a “fuck you ordinary people we are laughing at you” operation.
